We stopped for a restroom break and discovered that we were at a former Lewis & Clark Encampment (Sept. 16-18, 1804) near Oacoma. We took a walk down a path (avoiding the poisonous snakes) and saw a breathtaking view of the Missouri river and surrounding valley.
