Jennings 4th of July

We celebrated the Fourth of July a little early in Jennings. In fact, we celebrated several nights in a row, since there was a very reasonably priced fireworks stand within a half block of Grandma and Grandpa Hartzog's house. One (chilly) night, after the crew returned from the field, everyone came over for hamburgers and hot dogs, and we decided to put on a fireworks show. Some neighbors came over and added their own stockpile of firecrackers to our arsenal. Though none of the photos turned out very well, believe me when I say we put on a quite a display! It was loud and bright and totally awesome.
  1. The whole gang, pre-show.
  2. Grandma, Allie and Darlene try to stay warm. (Yes, it was COLD!)
  3. Allie experiences the joy of sparklers.
  4. Scott and Martin are forced to experience the joy of sparklers.
  5. Grandpa, Allie, Scott and Martin wait for the next round.
  6. Stann and Allie play swords with used roman candle sticks.
