I'm taking my first stab at adding content to the blog. Normally this is Jo's domain, but I decided to give it a shot. While I'm never at a loss for words, this really isn't my thing. Anyway, I wanted to include photos of the completed deck, or semi-completed deck. I still have some dirt work to do around it, and I'm going to add a cedar skirt around the rim joist and maybe enclose the lower part, but overall, this is the finished product. The landscaping and a few other touch ups are now occuring in between severe thunderstorms, which in Olathe means "you have 5 minutes to complete your outdoor project before a tornado and 4 inches of rain" comes. Dad always said not to mow the grass when it's wet, and I've believed in that advice for years, but when it rains every single day, I have to take my chances when I get them, wet grass or not. Regardless, lately my lawn has looked similar to our neighbors' (see earlier post). At least I have a valid reason I guess.
By the way, Allie wanted to show off the tomato that fell off the tomato plant on the deck. We just finished planting a garden (well, Jocelyn, her mom and Allie did), but we haven't had a chance to transplant the deck tomato plant yet. More on the garden later...
