I bought an unusual decorating kit that contained colorful "Lite Brite" pegs. The idea was to hammer the pegs into a specific pattern, using a tiny wooden mallet. When the candle inside the pumpkin was lit, the pegs glowed brightly on the outside. The project actually turned out great, wasn't real messy, and was super easy.
However, Allie wanted nothing to do with scooping out the pumpkin "guts." She didn't even want to touch the seeds. She thought the whole thing was "stinky" and "gross." For someone who loves worms, bugs, and mud puddles, Allie sure was a girly-girl about pumpkin innards.
